Public Notice: Renewal of Accreditation

Stakeholder Notification/Public Notice

Renewal of Accreditation

The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. Congaree Land Trust is pleased to announce it is applying for renewal of accreditation. A public comment period is now open.

The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. “As we celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Congaree Land Trust, we are proud to have been recognized as an accredited land trust since 2012 and are committed to continuing to meet national standards of excellence in pursuit of the renewal of accreditation. Our staff and board work tirelessly to ensure that our organization maintains the highest standards and practices, while guarding the trust of hundreds of landowners who have partnered with us in the permanent conservation of over 89,000 acres-for the benefit of all,” says Stuart White, Executive Director.

The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Congaree Land Trust complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of standards see http://www.landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-practices.
