Stuart White, Executive Director, joined the staff of CLT in February 2012. He previously served in leadership roles with the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Peachtree Media Group, and the SC Waterfowl Association. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Stuart is a lifelong resident of Columbia and enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing and mountain biking with his family and friends.
Mary joined the staff of CLT in 2011 as a part-time land protection consultant and was promoted to Land Protection Director in July of 2012 following her retirement from the SC Department of Natural Resources. She is a well-known naturalist, ranger, land manager and conservation planner with over 30 years of experience. Mary has a B.S. in Forest Management from Clemson University and is a nationally certified public manager.
Billy is a retired business executive as well as a farmer and land owner and served as Executive Director from the Spring of 2008 until February of 2012. Prior to taking the position of Executive Director, Billy served on the CLT Board of Directors including a 2 year term as President. Billy’s personal experience as a donor of several conservation easements and his extensive knowledge of land issues continues to make him an invaluable resource to prospective land owners considering conservation easements on their property.
John has worked for the Congaree Land Trust since 2001 and served as the first Land Protection Director. He continues to be invaluable to the Land Trust in crafting conservation easements. John also served on the Accreditation Committee. He enjoys hiking, camping and backpacking near his home in Brevard, NC.
